Rusty is looking for a loving home! He is a bit shy around new people, but warms up once you get to know him. Rusty is a 1 year old German Shorthair Pointer/Lab cross. He has been neutered. Current Weight: 60.6 Pounds ~ Pet Tips~ The German Shorthaired Pointer is an active, high-energy dog who is most content in a setting where she can exercise regularly. They do not thrive in a confined environment. Training is usually not difficult with a well-adapted dog. They grow rapidly for their first 4 months or so, at which time growth will level off. Proper feeding, possibly with supplementation, is vital during these fast-growing four months. You should expect very active adolescents with emerging hunting instincts, which are very alive in this breed. Plenty of daily time should be spent channeling this great exuberance to avoid destructiveness.
